Editorial policy

Money decisions matter, so we hold every page to the same standard. This is how we work.

How we write

  • Plain words. If a term needs explaining, we explain it the first time it appears.
  • The answer first. Every article starts with a short, direct answer.
  • Show the math. Numbers come with a worked example you can follow and check.
  • No promises. We say "historically" and "for example", never "you will earn".

How we check facts

Every statistic links to its source: central banks, official tax and government sites, regulators and index providers. If we can't find a reliable source for a number, we don't use it.

How we keep pages up to date

Each article shows a last reviewed date. We review our most-read articles at least every six months, and update any page as soon as a rate, limit or rule it mentions changes.

Independence

Our recommendations are decided before we look at any commission. Affiliate partners can't pay for a better position, and they don't see or approve our articles. Sponsored reviews, if we ever publish them, will be clearly labelled as sponsored at the top of the page.

Corrections

Spotted a mistake? Email hello@moneycandor.com. We fix confirmed errors quickly and note significant corrections at the bottom of the article.

Not financial advice

Money Candor is for general information and education. We explain options; we don't tell individuals what to buy. For decisions about your own situation, consider speaking with a qualified, regulated adviser.
