How we make money

Money Candor is free to read, and the tools are free to use. To pay for the work, the site earns money in a few ways. You should know exactly what they are.

Affiliate links

Some links to banks, brokers, money apps and exchanges are affiliate links. If you open an account through one, the company may pay us a fee. It costs you nothing extra.

Every affiliate link is labelled right next to the link, not hidden in a footer.

Advertising

Some pages show ads. Ads are placed below the first screen so they don't get in the way of the answer you came for. Advertisers have no say over what we write.

Our rules

1. One honest recommendation beats ten links. We point to the option that fits a type of person best, and say who it's not for.
2. Commission never decides the ranking. A product doesn't move up a list because it pays more.
3. We show the downsides of every product we mention, including the ones that pay us.
4. Risk warnings are copied exactly where a provider is required to show one.
5. Crypto links only go to exchanges licensed in the reader's region.

If readers lose money because of a pushy pick, they stop trusting us, and they'd be right to. That's why these rules come first.
